Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter!

We have some very special, and long-standing traditions at Easter.
I hope that as my girls continue to grow older they always
appreciate this time with their family. I hope they run down the stairs
to find their baskets, rush outside for the egg hunt, and stain
their hands decorating eggs!
And, most importantly, I hope they always remember and give
thanks for the sacrifice Jesus made for them and the
grace given to them as a result.

For 10 years, we have been hosting our annual
RouseHouse Easter Eggstravaganza!
We started having a Easter party at our house when
Claire was just 1 1/2 years old.  It has been fun to watch
our friendships grow and change and our party get bigger
and more blessed every year.

Some things always stay the same:
1. Craft
2. Snack (my famous cupcakes)
3. Huge Egg Hunt
4. Dying/decorating eggs

Some things change:
1. Our house
2. Our friends
3. My ability to pull it all together in a timely fashion!

This year was just one of those years that I couldn't seem
to get things moving.  Between the never-ending winter and
an early Easter date, we decided to keep it a bit smaller and low-key.
We ended up with just our tried and trusted crew,
The Liskeys and Grammy and Boppa.
No holiday, or really any significant event, can pass in
our family without our dear Liskey friends!
We had a blast!
The weather stayed nice enough to hunt outside
and the crowd was small enough to dye eggs inside!

At the end of the day, we were glowing with gratitude,
for we are loved by God, friends and family.
Blessings!

The girls enjoyed their Easter baskets, complete with the usual;
candy, books, games and stuffed animals!
They also received travel journals to celebrate our upcoming
trip to Florida!!
Every year we pose for a family pic at my mom's house.
It's so fun to look back at them over the years.
We are all growing! :)

We have a good family picture! I love it!

Craft time!

One of our favorite Easter party activities is the egg dying.
We tried to get a bit more creative this year, since we had
more elbow room, and they turned out great!

Buggie and I decorating!

Not sure what I'm doing.  Giving directions perhaps? :)

Since we had a small group this year, we decided to do
something special.  Grammy wanted to give all the girls
a gift, so I put together a scavenger hunt using 10 bible
verses that told the story of Jesus.  At each location, they'd
read a verse, then follow the clue to the next location.
At several locations, they had to complete an extra activity.
At the end, they found their treasure: Webkinz and bracelets!
They had a blast doing it and I really enjoyed putting it all
together. Thanks to Grammy for the special gifts for
all the girls!

Happy Easter Ella!
Avery's favorite part was definitely the hunt. She couldn't
wait to open her eggs and look at all her loot!

We are so blessed to have such great friends and family with which
to share our life.  I am so grateful for the love and support
we have for our family and our sweet girls.
